Bring brilliant learning and collaboration to the classroom with Boxlight’s P12 LIW laser pen-interactive projector. It’s easy to use, saves time and resources, and eliminates the hassle of changing bulbs with a 20-year laser life span.
I evaluated the projector using an animated DVD, “Ice Age.” The visual quality was impressive, especially for such a budget-minded unit.
Easy to Use
The projector’s controls and connections are intuitive and easy to use. Using the menu system, you can easily customize the settings to suit your needs. The lamp timer and air filter alert help you keep the projector in pristine condition. Whether you need to adjust the vertical keystone, or change the zoom and focus ring, the projector is simple to operate and maintain.
Connecting to Your Computer
The RS-232 port allows connection of a laptop or desktop computer. Simply plug the RS-232 cable into the projector and the other end into the computer. Once the software is installed on the computer and you have registered the projector, you can control it remotely.
Create an interactive learning experience inside and outside the classroom with Boxlight’s innovative MimioConnect. Stream any combination of up to nine mobile devices, tablets, and laptops enabled with the screen mirroring app to the ProColor or MimioPro4 interactive panel. This solution helps students engage in collaborative and one-to-one learning from front of the class to back row. It’s the best way to bridge the distance learning gap and bring lessons into the 21st century.
Long Life Lamps
A long life lamp for your boxlight projector can cut down on the costs of maintaining it, as you won’t have to change bulbs as often. This is especially important if you use your projector for extended periods of time. A projector with a long life lamp will also save energy, as it will consume less power than a regular bulb.
The best long-life lamps for boxlight projectors are LEDs or halide. A halide projector lamp will have an average lifespan of about 1,000 to 5,000 hours. This is a good amount of time to get the most out of your projector, although heavy usage and overheating may cause the lamp to depreciate faster than normal.
If you choose a projector with an LED light source, it will have a much longer lifespan than halide bulbs. LED bulbs use the light emitting diode technology and are used in several types of projectors. They can last up to 30,000 hours (in eco mode), which is more than enough for most classroom applications.
Boxlight has a special program called the Lamps for Life warranty. This offers replacement lamps for your projector for a onetime fee when you register the projector with the company. This is an excellent option to consider, as it can provide substantial savings in the long run.
Easy Installation
Boxlight projectors require no special software or screens and can be installed in minutes. Simply mount the projector on a conventional whiteboard and connect a computer or other device to start using it right away. The projection system is designed with an optical zoom to ensure sharp images even at full screen size. The projector is easy to clean, making maintenance and cleaning an efficient process.
The projector is equipped with an audio input jack for connecting speakers and an external microphone. A USB mouse connector allows you to control the computer mouse functions from the projector remote. An air filter cover prevents dust and foreign particles from entering the projector.
If left on for more than 15 minutes, the projector automatically enters a cooling sequence. The lamp shuts off, the lamp indicator flashes red, and the fans continue to run for two minutes. The projector will remain in Cool Down mode if the power button is pressed after the sequence begins.
Featuring advanced digital technology, Boxlight interactive flat panel displays deliver vivid colors and crisp, clear images-even from the back row of your classroom. The ultra short throw projection system also reduces shadows on your conventional whiteboard. MimioPro 4 interactivity features include the dynamic MimioStudio classroom software and can be used with other Mimio products, including the Mimio document camera, MimioMobile app, Oktopus whiteboard, and Lynx interactive whiteboard.
Easy Maintenance
Boxlight has a complete line of interactive projectors to meet the needs of any class or group presentation. These are top quality projectors backed up with outstanding support! Each model has a contact number to reach a hands-on, in house ISF Certified service technician.
Boxlight projectors offer a 120 day or 500 hour lamp warranty to help ease the cost of replacing a lamp. Most models also have a long list of input and output ports to ensure you will be able to connect any type of device.
The menu system on a boxlight is fairly complicated, but it does allow you to adjust the image to your liking. There are adjustments for red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow, as well as gamma and color temperature. There are also some more advanced features like corner keystone and pincushion correction, as well as a digital zoom.
It is important that you read the user’s manual thoroughly before using your new projector. This will ensure proper usage and prevent damage to the unit. Make sure that you keep the manual in a safe place for future reference. Be aware that placing heavy objects on top of this projector may cause it to fall, which could result in injury or property damage. It is also important that you do not block any ventilation openings on the unit. This could cause internal overheating and a fire.
