It features a short-throw lens that can project an 80-inch image from 7 feet away. It also has motorized precision focus adjustment.
Power
Despite not having built-in wireless technology or a smart platform, the CC200 manages to keep its price competitive. By forgoing these features, HP was able to focus on performance and make it a contender in the budget portable projector market.
The CC200 is powered by an LED light source that will last up to 20,000 hours and delivers up to 200 lumens of bright display for darkened rooms with an HD resolution of 1080p. It features a short-throw lens and built-in speakers for an immersive cinema experience in small spaces.
Its minimalist design makes it easy to setup and use. You simply plug in a compatible cable via HDMI and your content is ready for viewing. A remote control is included for easier access to all your media. With a 1.2:1 throw-ratio, it can project an 80 inch image from 7 feet away without having to move it. The CC200 also lacks adjustable feet, so you will have to mount it at a level surface or risk a distorted image.
Design
The HP Projector CC200 is a cheap portable projector that is capable of outputting full HD resolution, perfect for those who want to enjoy movies or games without the hassle of having to shell out the extra cash for a smart device. The body is compact and stylized to fit into almost any decor environment, with a 1.2 throw-ratio lens that can easily project a screen of 80 inches from 7 feet away.
The CC200 also supports most major streaming devices like Chromecast, Roku, and Firestick so that you can instantly enjoy movies and TV series from your smartphone, tablet or computer. Motorised focus adjustment can be done via remote control for a perfectly displayed image. The projector uses LED technology for its display which can last up to 20,000 hours before you need to replace it. This projector is currently being offered by HSN as a bundle with an 84” Global Aiptek fabric screen and a Roku Express media player.
Image Quality
In terms of image quality, the CC200 delivers as advertised. It’s a full HD projector that can handle 1080p content just fine, with a crisp and clear picture that doesn’t get too overblown even at its maximum brightness of 200 ANSI lumens.
The projector’s short throw ratio means it can be placed much closer to the screen than many larger models, and its automatic vertical and horizontal keystone correction make it easy to set up anywhere. The unit is also very quiet, although it does vent heat out the front a little so you might want to have some sort of ventilation in place if you’re going to be sitting near it for an extended period of time.
One thing you’ll notice about the CC200 is that it doesn’t come with any built-in smart technology or a proprietary app ecosystem. To get started with it, you need a streaming stick – which HP suggests pairing it with and has created a bundle for in the US that includes one.
Sound
With a true native full HD (1080p) resolution and a short-throw lens, the CC200 delivers a crisp, clear picture. This projector also boasts a surprisingly quick response time and motorised focus adjustment by remote control.
This unit has dual 3W speakers with a range of sound modes including sport, user-defined, standard, music, or movie. It’s not as loud as some of the pricier options but it will certainly be enough for a small gathering.
The CC200 does not have any built-in wireless technology or smart platform, but it is able to run a range of streaming apps via a streaming stick (Chromecast, Roku etc) connected through its HDMI port. It is currently available in the US with a bundle that includes a Roku Express streaming stick and an 84-inch portable Global Aiptek fabric screen. The unit itself has clean lines and looks minimalist with no paraphernalia cluttering the design. It’s easy to set up and operate without much effort.
